In the Spring of 2009, I started the project of restoring a vintage Abbott Soling. The hull was stripped down to the jell coat, all scratches and blemishes where repaired and the hull and topsides repainted. |

In typical Melrose fashion the new mainsheet pedestal is all welded aluminum. The pedestal and new Harken sheaves make a world of difference especially on windy days.

Disclaimer: The title Melrose Racing is a spoof, I have no intention of actually entering in to any type of official competition. Just thought that I would put my self over and it sounds cool. In the August of 2009 we added a 22’ Sisu Down-easter to the fleet she shall serve as a Committee / Chase Boat, on days when not in use as a Crew/Support vessel for MMS. Main power is from a Yanmar 4JH2-DTE, 88 HP turbocharged and inter-cooled diesel |
