In the Spring of 2009, I started the project of restoring a vintage Abbott Soling. The hull was stripped down to the jell coat, all scratches and blemishes where repaired and the hull and topsides repainted. |

In typical Melrose fashion the new mainsheet pedestal is all welded aluminum. The pedestal and new Harken sheaves make a world of difference especially on windy days.

Disclaimer: The title Melrose Racing is a spoof, I have no intention of actually entering in to any type of official competition. Just thought that I would put my self over and it sounds cool. However if I run in to you out on the water I will most likely try my best to pass you and beat you to the next buoy, dock, jetty or any other fixed object . Eric |

In the August of 2009 we added a 22’ Sisu Down-easter to the fleet she shall serve as a Committee / Chase Boat, on days when not in use as a Crew/Support vessel for MMS. This boat is currently undergoing a major overhaul. The motor has been removed and repaired, new fuel tanks installed, Hydraulic Steering installed, new larger engine box fabricated, all stainless steel dry type exhaust installed, all thru hull fittings replaced, new electronics, and hard top canopy raised to allow us taller people more clearance.
