Melrose Marine Service, Inc. builder of docks and bulkheads
permitting, permits

We are becoming ever more aware of the impact of building structures along our coastlines, and the effects on marine life. Building docks and bulkheads without permits can lead to devastation to our ecosystem, as well as heavy fines.

MMS offers full service assistance in designing and  applying for permits. Typically this starts with a site visit where we meet with the property owner and discuss the scope of the project. Many times simple changes to the proposed design can save months in the time needed to complete the permit process.

We often perform preliminary surveys to help assess the owners needs, any sensitive environmental areas, depth of water, and exposure potentially damaging sea conditions. This information is helpful in designing a structure that will be functional and make the least impact on the surrounding environment.

The process of acquiring permits for building or repairing waterfront structures can appear to be an impossible task, especially with the ever changing local zoning and building codes.  But with the assistance of MMS and our associates we can make your concept a reality
